AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED BY POST IMPACT FIRE. FLIGHT ORIGINATED FROM THE PERRYTON OCHILTREE COUNTY AIRPORT. THE COMMERCIAL PILOT WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT ONBOARD AND RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA216](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA216), Jun 6, 2024: Air Tractor AT-402 (N45123), Perryton, TX, destroyed. Probable cause: The pilot’s exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle of attack during a low-level turn, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and loss of airplane control at too low of an altitude to recover.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
