## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS 3 MILES FROM THE PAROWAN AIRPORT(1L9), WITH 200 FEET ABOVE PATTERN ALTITUDE WHICH IS 6930 FEET. THE GLIDER SINK RATE WAS 1000 FEET PER MIN. PILOT STATED, “IT WAS CLEAR THAT I WOULDN'T MAKE IT TO THE AIRPORT, IT WAS TOO LATE TO DEPLOY THE ENGINE." PILOT LANDED GEAR UP AND WINGS LEVEL IN A FIELD 3 MILES FROM THE AIRPORT. THE GLIDER SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE DUE TO THE OFF-AIRPORT LANDING. THE PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES. PILOT RECORDS WERE REVIEWED, AND NO DISCREPANCIES FOUND.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
