## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 06/07/2024 AT APPROXIMATELY 1606 LOCAL, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED ON RUNWAY 22R AT KVUJ WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. THE AIRCRAFT’S NOSE GEAR STARTED TO AUTO-EXTEND JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN, BUT THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOO LOW. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON BOTH FLAPS AND THE NOSE GEAR DOORS.

THE PILOT STATED THE TOWER ASKED HIM TO USE RUNWAY 22R BECAUSE THERE WAS A C17 DEPARTING RUNWAY 22L. THE PILOT BECAME FIXATED ON WATCHING THE C17 DEPART AS HE ENTERED A RIGHT DOWNWIND TO RUNWAY 22R AND DID NOT LOWER THE LANDING GEAR AS HE NORMALLY WOULD IN THAT POSITION OR COMPLETE A LANDING CHECKLIST. THE PILOT ALSO DIVERTED HIS ATTENTION TO LANDING ON RUNWAY 22R WHICH IS NOT THE RUNWAY HE WAS USED TOO.

SAS TASK # T-EA68-FY24-1333

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
