## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT HE HAD BEEN PERFORMING "TOUCH AND GOES" AT THE AIRPORT. UPON THE FINAL LANDING, PILOT HAD FLAPS EXTENDED AND PULLED THE ENGINE THROTTLE BACK TO IDLE IN AN ATTEMPT FOR A SLOWER SHORTER LANDING. WHEN HE DID, THE AIRCRAFT SLOWED ABRUPTLY, AND THE NOSE WHEEL DROPPED RAPIDLY, STRIKING THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE MAIN GEAR CAME DOWN TO THE SURFACE AND DROVE THE NOSE BACK UP. ONCE THE NOSE RETURNED TO THE SURFACE, THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING A PROP-STRIKE AND DAMAGE TO THE LOWER ENGINE COWLING, BELLY SKIN AFT OF THE ENGINE BAY, AND LEFT-WING TIP LEADING EDGE. AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP ON THE PAVED RUNWAY, TURNED LEFT APPROXIMATELY 60 DEGREES AND ABOUT 20 FEET FROM THE CENTERLINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
