## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 11, 2024, AT 1250 MST, A CESSNA MODEL 150M, A SINGLE-ENGINE AIRPLANE, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS ON A CROSS-COUNTRY FLIGHT FROM KNYL TO KCHD NEAR WELTON AZ, UNDER VISUAL FLIGHT RULES WHEN THE PIC EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF ENGINE POWER AND THE PROPELLER STOPPED. THE PIC TURNED TOWARD AN AIRFIELD, AZ06, AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE AIRCRAFT, ALL UNSUCCESSFUL. THE PIC NOTICED THAT THE PROPELLER WAS NOT WINDMILLING. REALIZING THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE INTENDED AIRPORT, THE PIC ATTEMPTED TO LAND ON A FARM FIELD BUT DUE TO RAPIDLY RAPID ALTITUDE LOSS, THE PIC ENDED UP LANDING IN THE DESERT AND HIT SEVERAL TREES. THIS CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE PIC WAS NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
