ON JUNE 13, 2024, AT OR AROUND 12:14 MST, AN EXPERIMENTAL COX BREEZY, CRASHED AFTER TAKEOFF ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY AT DOUBLE EAGLE II AIRPORT (AEG), ALBUQUEQUE, NM, WHILE ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT (ACCIDENT). VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS NOT FILED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSRTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE, AND THE CERTIFICATED COMMERCIAL PILOT SUSTAINED INJURES. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT ALBUQUERQUE, NM, ON JUNE 13, 2024, AT OR AROUND 12:14 MST.

THE INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THE ENGINE LOST POWER BECAUSE THE VALVE ADJUSTER NUT FOR THE NUMBER 1 CYLINDER INTAKE VALVE BACKED OFF AND THE VALVE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE PILOT TRIED TO TURN AROUND ABOUT 200 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AND ENTERED A STALL SPIN. JRK

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
