## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT HAD JUST PERFORMED TOUCH AND GO AT SILER CITY AIRPORT AND WAS BEGINNING CLIMBOUT WHEN THEY RADIOED ANOTHER TRAINING AIRCRAFT THAT THEY WERE HAVING A PROBLEM AND NEEDED TO LAND.

IT APPEARS THAT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS HAVING ENGINE POWER ISSUES, ATTEMPTED TO PERFORM AN EMERGENCY LANDING, STALLED SHORT OF AN OPEN FIELD, AND CRASHED AT A STEEP ANGLE INTO THE WOODS APPROXIMATELY A MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE AIRPORT AND IMMEDIATELY CAUGHT FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The flight instructor’s failure to maintain airplane control during a low-speed, low-altitude left turn after encountering an undetermined issue during takeoff, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
