## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MONDAY JUNE 17TH, 2024, AT 16:23 MDT TWIN CESSNA 421C CRASHED INTO A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT STEAMBOAT SPRINGS/BOB ADAMS FIELD (SBS), STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24FA228](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24FA228), Jun 17, 2024: Cessna 421 (N245T), Steamboat Springs, CO, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain sufficient airspeed following a loss of engine power, which resulted in an inadvertent aerodynamic stall/spin at low altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
