## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

06/20/2024 DURING A SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE TO LANDING EXERCISE, THE APPLICANT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND FELL BEHIND THE AIRCRAFTS OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS. THE APPLICANT DID NOT COMPLETE THE NECESSARY CHECKLIST AND WAS NOT ACCURATELY FLYING THE AIRCRAFT. AS THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED SHORT FINAL, THE DPE ASSUMED CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE DPE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE LANDING GEAR IN THE RETRACTED (UP) POSITION. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE RUNWAY WITH THE LANDING GEAR UP. UPON INSPECTION, THE ON SCENE INVESTIGATOR IN CHARGE CONFIRMED THAT THE LANDING GEAR LEVER WAS FOUND IN THE DOWN POSITION. BLOCK 32 CORRECTIVE ACTION “OTHER” WAS CHECKED DUE TO THE DESIGNATED PILOT EXAMINER (DPE) BEING THE PILOT FLYING AT TIME OF INCIDENT. THE DPE WAS NOT PILOT IN COMMAND, HOWEVER WAS THE PILOT FLYING AND THEREFOR THE DPE’S COMPETENCY IS IN QUESTION. 44709 REEXAMINATION WILL BE GIVEN TO THE DPE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
