## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED THAT HE WAS “COMING IN TOO FAST” AND THAT HE DID NOT HAVE THE YOKE PULLED BACK ENOUGH DURING THE TOUCHDOWN. THE INITIAL CONTACT WITH THE WATER WAS OKAY, BUT HE STATED THAT HE RELEASED THE YOKE TOO SOON AND THE NOSE WENT DOWN. THE FIBERGLASS HULL FRACTURED AROUND THE NOSE AREA AND “COLLAPSED”.

THE PURPOSE OF THE FLIGHT WAS SIGHTSEEING. HE STATED THAT HE “WENT UP, DID A LOOP, AND CAME BACK”.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA272), Jun 21, 2024: Adams Walter R Searey (N425UW), Sopchoppy, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper landing flare, which resulted in abnormal contact with the water during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
