## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACFT WAS PRACTICING PRIVATE PILOT MANEUVERS, STARTING WITH 'TURNS AROUND A POINT' AT 1100 FEET NEAR THE LIGHTHOUSE. AFTER A FEW TURNS, ACFT TURNED EAST AND BEGAN A CLIMB TO 2000 FEET. BEFORE CLIMBING, FUEL TANK WAS SWITCHED FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. DURING THE CLIMB, AROUND 1400 FEET, THE ENGINE DID NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH POWER, AND THE PROPELLERS WERE SLOWING. ATTEMPTED ENGINE RESTART WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. FUEL TANKS WERE SWITCHED FROM RIGHT TO LEFT, TOGGLED THE MAGNETOS LEFT AND RIGHT, ADJUSTED THE MIXTURE, AND USED CARB HEAT. ENGINE INSTRUMENTS SHOWED GREEN, ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP WAS ON. AROUND 1000 FEET ATC WAS CONTACTED TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY. LANDED ON BEACH NO INJURIES

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA277](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA277), Jun 24, 2024: Piper PA-28-151 (N890MA), Fire Island, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of engine power for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
