## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ACCORDING TO THE PILOT HE SLOWLY ADVANCED THE POWER LEVER ALL THE WAY FORWARD AND MONITORED THE AIRCRAFT’S POSITION ON THE RUNWAY AS THE TAIL WAS STILL DOWN. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT APPEAR TO BE ACCELERATING AS QUICKLY AS IT HAD IN PREVIOUS FLIGHTS; HOWEVER, ON THIS FLIGHT, HE WAS CARRYING A HEAVIER LOAD THAN ON PREVIOUS FLIGHTS. AS THE TAIL CAME UP, HE DISCOVERED THAT HE HAD USED UP ABOUT 90 PERCENT OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT APPEAR THAT IT WAS READY TO FLY SINCE IT WAS FAILING TO GAIN LIFT.

HE GENTLY PULLED BACK ON THE CONTROL STICK IN AN ATTEMPT TO CLEAR THE GATE AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY. HE FELT THE AIRCRAFT STRIKE THE GATE AND CONTINUED SOUTHBOUND ACROSS NICOLAUS AVENUE. AS HE CROSSED ONTO THE ROADWAY, HE SAW THE RIGHT WINGTIP COLLIDE WITH A WHITE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TRUCK BEING DRIVEN EASTBOUND ON NICOLAUS AVENUE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA214](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA214), Jun 25, 2024: Grumman Acft ENG Cor-Schweizer G-164B (N6793K), Pleasant Grove, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s delayed recognition of the extent of the airplane’s increased takeoff roll. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s lack of experience operating the airplane at a high gross weight.
