## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA286](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA286), Jun 29, 2024: Grumman G-164A (N7849), Toccoa, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to set the engine speed control fully forward during takeoff, resulting in an engine surge and subsequent loss of control during landing.

## Other reports on N7849 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19790328005309A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790328005309A), Mar 28, 1979: Gulstm G164A (N7849), Vilonia, AR, Substantial damage. Power loss after takeoff resulting in forced landing. Acft flipped inverted. Operator not certificated for ag work.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
