## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FLIGHT TRAINING ON LANDINGS WAS BEING CONDUCTED ON RUNWAY 12 AT CAPITAL CITY AIRPORT (CXY). PRIOR TO THE LANDING, BOTH THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT PILOT DECIDED THIS WOULD BE THEIR LAST LANDING DUE TO THE WEATHER CONDITIONS (INCREASE IN WIND VELOCITY AND VARIABLE WIND DIRECTION). DURING THE LANDING PHASE, THE STUDENT PILOT WAS IN CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AFTER STUDENT PILOT INDICATED HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE CONTROLLING THE AIRCRAFT. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, A STRONG GUST OF WIND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO LEAVE THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO THE GRASS AREA. THE INSTRUCTOR WAS ABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT. THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR THEN TAXIED THE AIRCRAFT BACK ONTO THE HARD SURFACE RUNWAY AND RETURNED TO THE RAMP PARKING AREA. AFTER MAINTENANCE EVALUATION OF THE AIRCRAFT, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE PROPELLER HAD INCURRED DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER TIPS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
