## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 5TH, 2024, PSA AIRLINES FLIGHT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDING AT THE CHARLOTTE DOUGLAS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (CLT) WHEN THE LEFT WINGTIP MADE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY.

REPORTED WEATHER OBSERVATION AT THE TIME WAS KCLT 051652Z 25008KT 10SM SCT050 BKN150 BKN250 35/23 A2990. THE PILOTS ALSO REPORTED WINDS 240/08 AT THE TIME OF THE WING STRIKE.

IN THE PILOT STATEMENTS, THE PILOT FLYING INITIATED A BALKED LANDING PROCEDURE ON RUNWAY 18L AT KCLT AFTER RECEIVING THE COMMAND, GO-AROUND, FROM THE PILOT MONITORING (CAPTAIN).

THE EGPWS GAVE A CALL-OUT DUE TO WING ANGLE EXCEEDANCE. CAPTAIN TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT TO LEVEL WINGS AND PERFORM THE GO-AROUND. THE FLIGHT RETURNED TO LAND AND TAXIIED TO THE GATE.

CREW NOTIFIED MAINTENANCE OF A POSSIBLE HARD LANDING AND DURING THE POST-FLIGHT WALK AROUND THE DAMAGE TO THE LEFT WINGTIP WAS NOTICED BY THE FIRST OFFICE. THE ATC FACILITY WAS NOTIFIED OF THE WINGTIP STRIKE AND THIS WAS REPORTED AS AN OCCURRENCE. PILOT ERROR WITH MISMANAGED FLIGHT CONTROLS WOULD BE THE PRIMARY FACTOR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
