## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED MULTIPLE TIMES ON WET GRASS WHILE LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT EXCEEDED THE GRASS STRIP, ROLLED APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET INTO A SOYBEAN FIELD WHERE THE LANDING GEAR SANK INTO THE WET SOIL. THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER THE PROPELLER AND CAME TO REST INVERTED. POST ACCIDENT INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED NO EVIDENCE OF ANY PREIMPACT MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS OR FAILURES THAT WOULD HAVE PRECLUDED NORMAL OPERATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA254](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA254), Jul 6, 2024: Vans RV8 (N312FM), Atwater, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inability to stop the landing roll on a wet grass runway which resulted in a runway overrun.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
