## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED LAGRANDE AIRPORT (LGD) AT APPROXIMATELY 11:30AM INTENDING TO FLY FROM THERE TO SUNRIVER(S21). THE FLIGHT WAS UNEVENTFUL AND AT APPROXIMATELY 1:40 PM THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED SUNRIVER PATTERN AND JOINED FOR RUNWAY 18, MAKING A SLIGHTLY UNSTABLE CROSSWIND LANDING. IMMEDATELY AFTER LANDING A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE RIGHT WING, PIVOTING THE AIRCRAFT CLOCKWISE AND DRIVING THE LEFT WING TIP DOWN TO CONTACT THE RUNWAY, COLLAPSING THE NOSEGEAR AND LETTING THE NOSE FALL, CAUSING THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE RUNWAY WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON IT'S NOSE. THERE WAS NO FIRE OR FUEL LEAKAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA235](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA235), Jul 6, 2024: Piper PA-22-150 (N6931D), Sunriver, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of control during landing roll with a gusty tailwind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
