## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED WITH A 90 DEGREE CROSSWIND, WIND GOT UNDER RIGHT WING AND LIFTED LEFT WING ENOUGH TO STRIKE GROUND.PILOT STATED HE DIDN'T KNOW HE HAD HIT THE RUNWAY WITH THE WING. HE ADDED POWER AND DID A GO-AROUND AND LANDED SAFELY. HE NOTICED LEFT WING DAMAGE AFTER PARKING AIRCRAFT. IT APPEARS LEFT WING SPAR IS BENT UPWARD THE LAST THREE FEET OR SO TOWARD THE TIP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA242](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA242), Jul 10, 2024: Cessna 182A (N4083D), Teton Village, WY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control of the airplane during the landing roll.improper compensation for the prevailing wind conditions, resulting in impact of the left wing on the runway surface.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
