## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT PERFORMED A SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF AND ACCELERATED THE AIRPLANE TO APPROXIMATELY 60MPH UPON REACHING THE LOW SPOT OF THE RUNWAY. AS THE NOSE WHEEL HIT THE WATER PUDDLE PILOT IMMEDIATELY PULLED BACK ON THE YOKE TO LIFT THE AIRPLANE OFF THE GROUND IN ORDER TO AVOID LOSING CONTROL OF THE AIRPLANE. THE PLAN WAS DISCUSSED WITH THE CHIEF PILOT, WAS TO “HOP” OVER THE LOW SPOT OF THE RUNWAY WHERE IT WOULD FLOOD AND TO THEN FURTHER ACCELERATE IN A GROUND ROLL FOR TAKEOFF. WITH THE AIRPLANE ONLY ABOUT 60 MPH AND APPROXIMATELY 250LBS BELOW GROSS WEIGHT, THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO STAY IN GROUND EFFECT MOMENTARILY AND SANK RIGHT BACK DOWN. WHEN THE AIRPLANE MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND IT WAS STILL OVER THE LOW SPOT AND THE RIGHT WHEEL HIT SOME DEEPER WATER WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO YAW TO THE RIGHT AND LOSE CONTROL.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
