COMMENTS FROM THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ INDICATE THE PILOT OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS CONDUCTING AN AFTER-ACTION MAINTENANCE FLIGHT IN THE EASTON AIRPORT AREA.

A WITNESS TO THE CRASH EVENT WAS POSITIONED IN DIRECT SIGHT OF THE ACCIDENT OVERLOOKING THE SITE WHERE THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE RIVER.

THE WITNESS STATED:

“THE AIRPLANE APPEARS TO HAVE STALLED MID-FLIGHT, THEN ‘FLOP’ INTO THE WATER.

THERE WAS A CIRCULAR, SYMMETRICAL PLUME/SPRAY/WAKE ONCE THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE WATER.

THERE WAS NO SKIMMING OF THE WATER, JUST A ‘PLOP’; NO WAKE; NO ENGINE NOISE; NO SPUTTERING NOISES

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24FA305](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24FA305), Jul 16, 2024: Cessna 402 (N7875E), Easton, MD, substantial damage, 1 fatal, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
