## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT FROM CASCADE, IDAHO (U70) TO SOUTH VALLEY REGIONAL (U42). NEAR OGDEN AIRPORT (OGD) AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. AIRCRAFT COULD NO LONGER MAINTAIN ALTITUDE, PILOT RECEIVED CLEARANCE TO LAND AT OGD. AT 7500 MSL AND ON A 7-MILE LEFT BASE THE ENGINE QUIT. PILOT LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN A FIELD APPROXIMATELY 8 MILES NORTH WEST OF THE OGD AIRPORT. NO AIRCRAFT DAMAGE OR INJURIES. THE PILOT WAS PROPERLY CERTIFICATED FOR THE FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT REQUIRED INSPECTION RECORDS ARE CURRENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
