## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WEATHER WAS CHECKED THROUGHOUT FLIGHT INCLUDING AT DTO AS APPROACHING DESTINATION AT 30F. LANDED AT 60 KNOTS WITH 30 DEGREES OF FLAPS. AT TOUCHDOWN, THE RIGHT WING RAISED WITH A SEVERE CROSSWIND EVENT. IN TRYING TO STABILIZE THE AIRCRAFT, AND MISS TREES, PULLED UP AT TOO SLOW A SPEED AND STALLED THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE WATER. THE PILOT SUSTAINED A HURT BACK AND BROKEN COLLARBONE. EXITED THE AIRCRAFT, SWAM TO SHORE, WHERE HE WAS PICKED UP AND PROVIDED HELP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA292](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA292), Jul 28, 2024: Flight Design Ctsw (N414FS), Lewisville, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain sufficient airspeed during a go-around, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall and impact with water. Contributing to the accident were crosswind gusts.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
