## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A 14 CFR PART 91 PERSONAL FLIGHT WAS DEPARTING NAPLES MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (APF) WITH ONE PERSON ON BOARD, THE PILOT (PIC). AT APPROXIMATELY 130 FEET AGL, THE PIC FELT THE AIRCRAFT LOSE POWER AND PERCEIVED THE ENGINE TO BE FAILING. ON CLIMB OUT, THE PILOT INFORMED THE TOWER HE NEEDED TO LAND IMMEDIATELY. AIRCRAFT LANDING WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED AT THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 5 WITHIN THE AIRPORT BOUNDARY. AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, PILOT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA330](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA330), Jul 29, 2024: Raytheon A36 (N934PC), Naples, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Contamination of the airplane’s fuel system with debris, which resulted in restricted fuel flow through multiple fuel injectors and the subsequent partial loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
