## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PIC IS A CFI TRAINING ANOTHER CFI EMPLOYED BY THE SAME FLIGHT SCHOOL FOR HIS SINGLE ENGINE SEAPLANE RATING, THE PIC WAS NOT AT THE CONTROLS HOWEVER HE WAS THE ONLY PERSON ON BOARD RATED TO FLY THE AIRCRAFT. AFTER PERFORMING SEVERAL WATER LANDINGS THEY RETURNED TO THEIR HOME AIRPORT TO LAND (HARD SURFACE LANDING). THE PIC STATED THAT ON APPROACH THE TWO PILOTS ON BOARD WERE HAVING A DISCUSSING AN UNRELATED TOPIC AND FAILED TO PULL OUT THE HARD SURFACE LANDING CHECKLIST. NEITHER PILOT ON BOARD CHECKED THE LANDING GEAR CONFIGURATION AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDED ON THE ASPHALT RUNWAY WITH THE LANDING GEAR UP RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE FLOATS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
