WHEN HE LANDED, PILOT STATED HE EXPERIENCED THE EXPECTED INSTABILITY AND MADE CORRECTIONS TO MAINTAIN CENTERLINE AND INADVERTANTLY EXPERIENCED A GROUND LOOP TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. HE CAME TO A STOP IN THE GRASS APPROXIMATELY 4000 FEET DOWN THE LENGTH OF RUNWAY 31 BETWEEN TAXIWAYS D AND E. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED (ONLY OCCUPANT). THE TAILWHEEL ASSEMBLY HAD SNAPPED OFF AT THE ATTACHMENT POINT TO THE AIRFRAME AND THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE RH LOWER WINGTIP AND LH WHEEL COVER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
