## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 8/15/24 ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ FLEW ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TO WJF WITH ONE PASSENGER, A PILOT WHO'S FAMILIAR WITH THE COZY EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT, WHO'S BEEN HELPING ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WITH THE FAMILIARIZATION OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ APPARENTLY ON DOWNWIND (MID-FIELD), ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ATTEMPTED TO LOWER THE NOSE GEAR BY SELECTING THE GEAR-DOWN POSITION ON THE NOSE-GEAR SWITCH. HE CAN'T REMEMBER IF HE SAW THE GREEN LIGHT (DOWN & LOCKED) ILLUMINATED. HE FELT HE GOT SOMEWHAT DISTRACTED BY A CONVERSATION WITH THE PASSENGER ON BEST PRACTICE.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DIDN'T CONFIRM NOSE GEAR POSITION ON BASE LEG AND ON FINAL LEG. HE ONLY REALIZED THAT THE GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND AND LOCK DURING LANDING WHEN HE LOWERED THE NOSE.

AFTER LANDING THE AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN INSPECTED BY A LOCAL A&P MECHANIC AT WJF WHO DISCOVERED A LOOSE WIRE (GEAR LIMIT) WHICH MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE GEAR FAILURE.
