## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED ON 8/17/2024 APPROXIMATELY 1600 I WAS RETURNING TO BOISE IDAHO FROM NAMPA IDAHO KMAN.

I CONTACTED BIG SKY APPROACH AND NOTIFIED THEM OF MY INTENTION TO LAND AT KBOI. BIG SKY

ASSIGNED A TRANSPONDER CODE AND ASKED ME TO MAKE BEST SPEED STRAIGHT INTO 10L AND HANDED

ME OFF TO TOWER.

TOWER CLEARED ME TO LAND 10L. I CONFIGURED THE

VISUAL APPROACH AND SLOWED THE PLANE DOWN. ON SHORT FINAL I WAS CONFIGURED WITH FULL FLAPS,

STABILIZED AND SETUP FOR LANDING. THE PLANE TOUCHED DOWN IN A TAIL LOW ATTITUDE AND AS I WAS

SLOWING THE PLANE SUDDENLY VEERED RIGHT. I WAS ABLE TO APPLY POWER, RIGHT AILERON AND LEFT RUDDER

TO TRY AND CORRECT. THE PLANE CONTINUED TURNING RIGHT AND STARTED SKIPPING. THE PLANE CAME TO

REST ON ITS NOSE WITH NO DAMAGE TO WINGS AND TAIL. THE DAMAGE APPEARS TO BE AROUND THE LEFT

MAIN GEAR. THERE WERE NO MECHANICAL ANOMALIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA279](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA279), Aug 17, 2024: Cessna 180A (N5216D), Boise, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing in gusting wind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
