## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT APPROXIMATELY 0900 ON 8/31/2024, GULFSTREAM G280, INCURRED A BIRD STRIKE ON TAKEOFF FROM KPCW (PORT CLINTON, OH). THE CREW FILED AN FAA BIRD STRIKE REPORT (#2024-08-31-105234). THE CREW WAS A FEW SECONDS POST-ROTATION WHEN A FLOCK OF BIRDS (DOZENS, LIKELY HUNDREDS OF LITTLE STARLINGS) EMERGED FROM THE GRASS AND MERGED ONTO THE RUNWAY PATH. THE FLOCK FLEW UPWARD AND CONTACTED THE AIRPLANE AS IT WAS CLIMBING OUT. THE CREW SAW THE RISING FLOCK AND FELT SOME STRIKES ON THE AIRCRAFT, REPORTING NUMEROUS SMALL THUDS AS THEY FLEW THROUGH THE FLOCK'S TOP. AFTER SEEING NO ENGINE INDICATIONS OR DEGRADED FLIGHT CONTROL ISSUES, THEY CONTINUED TO KFCI.

AIRCRAFT EVALUATION REVEALED DAMAGE TO FAN AND STATOR SECTION OF BOTH ENGINES AND TO THE LEADING EDGE OF BOTH WINGS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
