## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT REPORTED THAT ON APPROACH TO RUNWAY 02, HE WAS TOO LOW. HE CONTINUED TO APPLY AFT ELEVATOR PRESSURE AND ENTERED AN AERODYNAMIC STALL. HE THEN ADDED FULL POWER AND APPLIED FORWARD ELEVATOR. AS HE COMPLETED THIS ACTION, THE AIRCRAFT YAWED TO THE LEFT AND NOSED DOWN, STRIKING THE GROUND TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. THE ROUGH TERRAIN CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO SPIN TO THE LEFT AND FLIP OVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN24LA334](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN24LA334), Sep 1, 2024: Cessna 177B (N30853), Shell Knob, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain aircraft control and airspeed during final approach, which led to the airplane exceeding its critical angle-of-attack and experiencing an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
