## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A LEFT ENGINE FAILURE DURING A

DAYTIME TAKEOFF FROM LGA. AFTER ADVANCING THE THROTTLES TO TAKEOFF POWER, AT ABOUT 40 KNOTS GROUND SPEED, THE CREW HEARD THE SOUND OF A SINGLE POP AND THE AIRCRAFT YAWED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. THE LEFT ENGINE ITT DISPLAY WAS RED. ACTUAL ITT TEMPERATURE WAS NOT NOTED. THE TAKEOFF WAS ABORTED AND AIRCRAFT EXITED THE RUNWAY. CREW ASKED FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONSE AS A PRECAUTION. CREW SHUTDOWN AND EXIT AIRCRAFT. THE ENGINE WAS EMITTING SMOKE, AND THE OVER PRESSURE RELIEF DOOR ON TOP OF THE NACELLE WAS OPEN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
