## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 15 SEPTEMBER 2024, PILOT LANDED HUSKY A-1 AT KTSO ON RUNWAY 25. HE STATED THAT HE THEN DEPARTED THE RUNWAY PRIOR TO THE TAXIWAY TO PARK THE AIRCRAFT IN THE GRASS. AIRCRAFT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP APPROXIMATELY 60 FEET INTO THE GRASS AFTER THE LEFT MAIN TIRE/STRUT ASSEMBLY SHEARED OFF. THE AIRCRAFT'S FORWARD MOMENTUM CAUSED THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO DIP WHICH RESULTED IN THE PROPELLER STRIKING THE GROUND. THE LEFT WINGTIP SUFFERED IMPACT DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF THE AIRCRAFT TILTING TO THE LEFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA383](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA383), Sep 15, 2024: Aviat A-1 (N801JH), Carrollton, OH, substantial damage. Probable cause: A failure of the left main landing gear due to fatigue cracking, which resulted the airplane’s left wing contacting the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
