## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WAS PRACTICING OFF FIELD LANDINGS. AFTER THE LOW APPROACH AND VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE FIELD 5 FULL STOP LANDINGS WITH BACK TAXIS TO THE NORTH END OF THE STRIP EACH TIME ON UPPER STRIP. PILOT THEN MOVED TO A LOWER STRIP MORE TO THE EAST THAT WAS MORE IN LINE WITH WINDS. AFTER DOING OFF AIRPORT FLIGHT INSPECTION. TWO MORE LANDINGS WITH BACK TAXIS TO THE END OF THE STRIP WERE CONDUCTED. THE THIRD LANDING ON THE STRIP WAS UNEVENTFUL BUT AS THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT FOR BACK TAXI. PILOT STATED CORRECT CONTROL INPUTS WERE UTILIZED BUT WHILE USING POWER TO TURN THE PLANE AROUND A GUST OF WIND LIFTED THE TAIL RESULTING IN THE PLANE RESTING ON ITS NOSE. A SECOND GUST OF WIND FLIPPED THE AIRCRAFT ONTO ITS BACK CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC24LA099](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC24LA099), Sep 15, 2024: Piper PA-18-150 (N2466H), Skwentna, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during taxi in gusting wind conditions.

## Other reports on N2466H (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
