## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT ABOUT 50FT ABOVE THE RUNWAY, A SKYDIVERS PARACHUTE RISERS COLLIDED WITH THE AIRCRAFTS LEFT WING TIP. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO DELAND AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE SKYDIVER LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT AND WALKED AWAY. THE LEFT WINGTIP WAS FOUND SHEARED CLEAN WITH VISIBLE RIB AND SPAR DAMAGE ON THE REMAINING WING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA24LA384](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA24LA384), Sep 17, 2024: Cessna 172L (N19703), DeLand, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The parachutist’s failure to control his canopy which resulted in a downwind landing, an overshoot of the drop zone, and collision with a departing airplane.

## Other reports on N19703 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19770509043259A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19770509043259A), May 9, 1977: Cessna 150L (N19703), CA, Destroyed

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
