## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

STEARNS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE DRONE WAS COMING OUT OF MONTHLY MAINTENANCE. A DEPUTY WAS HOVERING THE DRONE TESTING SYSTEMS AND NOTICED THAT THE DRONE WAS NOT RESPONDING TO INPUTS FROM THE CONTROLLER AS INDICATED. A SECOND DEPUTY APPROACHED AND TRIED TO TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE WHILE DRONE WAS STILL HOVERING. THE SECOND DEPUTY PUSHED THE CONTROL STICK FORWARD AND THE DRONE FLEW STRAIGHT INTO A VEHICLE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE DRONE, AND $2,500 IN DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
