## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ NOSE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED DURING LANDING RWY 23 AT I23. NO MAIN GEAR ISSUE OR ISSUES NOTED ON PREVIOUS FLIGHT. ALL 3 GEAR INDICATOR LIGHTS SHOWED GREEN (DOWN AND LOCKED) AND WERE VERIFIED X2 BY PASSENGERS IN AIRCRAFT PRIOR TO LANDING. UPON INVESTIGATION BY MAINTENANCE, THE AFT NOSE GEAR TUBE CONNECTING TO THE GEAR MOTOR WAS BENT IN HALF AND WOULD NOT ALLOW THE GEAR TO STAY DOWN AND LOCKED. INSPECTION OF THE RODS IN THE MAIN GEAR FOUND NO INDICATION ON DAMAGE. RECEIVED PHOTOGRAPHS OF ROD DAMAGE AND A STATEMENT FROM THE MECHANIC STATING THAT THE JAM NUTS HAD BACKED OFF ALLOWING THE LENGTH OF THE TUBE TO CHANGE AND PREVENT THE NOSE GEAR FROM LOCKING IN POSITION. THE CARRY-THROUGH SPAR APPEARS TO BE TORN AND IS A MAJOR STRUCTURAL COMPONENT RESULTING IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
