## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER LANDING, DURING TAXI, THE PILOT ACKNOWLEDGED AN ISSUE WITH THE POWERPLANT, WHICH WAS A TURBO PROP AND WAS HAVING FLUCTUATION OF THE NG SPEED/PERCENTAGE AT FLIGHT IDLE. THE PILOT STOPPED THE AIRCRAFT AND STARTED PERFOMING TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES BY MOVING THE FUEL CONDITION LEVER FROM LOW IDLE TO HIGH IDLE BACK TO LOW IDLE. HE COULD DUPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT COULD NOT CORRECT IT. THE PILOT THEN DECIDED TO TAXI TO HAVE MAINTNENACE PERSONNEL LOOK AT THE ISSUE.

APPROXIMATELY THIRTY SECONDS INTO THE TAXI, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO ROLL BACK, HE THEN ENGAGED THE IGNITION SWITCH WHILE THE NG WAS ABOVE 50 PERCENT. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN. HE THEN TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND OBSERVED THE BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST.

DAMAGE TO POWERPLANT WAS AN INTERNAL OVERTEMPT TO THE COMPRESSOR TURBINE WHEEL, DISCOLORATION OF PAINT ON ENGINE COWLING, HEAT SHIELD DISCOLORED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
