## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT OF AN EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT WAS ON SECOND ATTEMPT TO LAND AT U60, BIG CREEK AIRPORT IN IDAHO. DURING THE FLARE PORTION OF THE LANDING, THE PILOT STALLED THE AIRCRAFT AND IT STRUCK THE GROUND. WHEN IT HIT THE GROUND, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND IT VEERED LEFT INTO A PERIMETER CATTLE FENCE CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. A PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE ON BOARD AT THE TIME AND WERE NOT INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR24LA312](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR24LA312), Sep 21, 2024: Conner Michael A Vans Acft RV-9 (N448MT), Yellow Pine, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control of the airplane during the landing roll, which resulted in an impact with a fence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
