## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ITEM 31. G,H,I,J. RESPONSES ARE ESTIMATES PROVIDED BY THE PILOT.

WHILE ON FINAL APPROACH THE STUDENT PILOT COMPLETED THE FINAL CHECKLIST MADE A DECISION TO LEAVE THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED IN AN EFFORT TO MAINTAIN BEST FORWARD SPEED WITH THE INTENTION OF LOWERING THE LANDING GEAR CLOSER TO THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD. THE STUDENT PILOT THEN FORGOT TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR AND LANDED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
