## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT REPORTS THAT HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH THIS UNIMPROVED DESERT LANDING/CAMPING AREA AND HAD LANDED THERE BEFORE. ON THE ACCIDENT FLIGHT IN CALM WINDS HE HAD ONE PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT WHO HE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE GIVEN A BRIEFING TO REGARDING KEEPING CLEAR OF THE AIRCRAFT FLIGHT CONTROLS. (HE CANNOT RECALL.) AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT MADE A SUDDEN "VEERING" TO THE RIGHT THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO COUNTER WITH RUDDER INPUT AND BRAKING, AND THE AIRCRAFT GROUNDLOOPED AND ENDED UP INVERTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA018](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA018), Oct 6, 2024: Cessna 180 (N7847C), Venator, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The inadvertent application of brakes during landing that resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
