## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON A PLANNED GO-AROUND, PILOT APPLIED FULL POWER AND RECEIVED A VISUAL AND AUDIBLE WARNING FOR AN ALTERNATOR ISSUE, WITH AN OVER-VOLTAGE INDICATION. A FULL-STOP WAS REQUESTED FOR RWY 22. WHILE IN LANDING PATTERN, ENGINE LOST POWER AND STALLED, THE PILOT REALIZED AN IMMEDIATE LANDING WAS NEEDED AND WITH THE POWER LOSS, THE CURRENT APPROVED LANDING WAS NOT FEASIBLE. PILOT REQUESTED LANDING ON RWY 9 WHICH WAS CLOSER AND WHEN TURNING FOR FINAL, A SLIGHT TAILWIND INCREASED SINK RATE AND DECREASED LIFT, WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO OVERSHOOT CENTERLINE. PILOT CHOSE TO MAKE A FORCED LANDING IN THE GRASS ALONGSIDE RWY 9, AND USING CONTROL INPUTS LINED UP WITH RWY CENTERLINE WHILE LANDING THE AIRCRAFT IN THE SELECTED AREA.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
