## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 10, 2024, AT 1915 EDT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, AN EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR-BUILT MODEL WRIGHT B FLYER INC, SERIAL NUMBER 003, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, HAD A LOSS OF PROPELLER THRUST DURING TAKEOFF FROM WRIGHT PATTERSON AIRFORCE BASE (FFO), DAYTON, OHIO, WHILE ON A LOCAL PLEASURE FLIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT MADE A FORCED LANDING IN A FIELD ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS NOT FILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED DURING THE LANDING. THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. INVESTIGATION REVEALED A FAILURE OF THE PROPELLERS DRIVE SPOCKET TO BE THE CAUSE OF PROPELLER LOSS OF THRUST.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
