## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 13, 2024, AT OR AROUND 16:15 MST, AN EXPERIMANTAL RANS DSG INC S21 OUT, ABORTED TAKE OFF AND THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR STRUCK A CATTLE STOCK TANK IN WAGON MOUND, NM, WHILE ON A PERSONAL FLIGHT (ACCIDENT). VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME, AND A VFR FLIGHT PLAN WAS NOT FILED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE, AND THE CERTIFICATED COMMERCIAL PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED AT WAGON MOUND, NM, ON JULY 18, 2023, AT ABOUT 0900 MST.

THE INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THAT SOON AFTER THE AIRFRAFT LEFT THE GROUND DURING TAKE OFF A GUST OF WIND FROM THE REAR OF THE AIRCRAFT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO LOSE LIFT AND FORCED THE PILOT TO IMIDIATELY ABORT THE TAKE OFF. JRK

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
