## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE LANDING PHASE OF FLIGHT, ON RUNWAY 29R AND DURING DAY VFR CONDITIONS, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR (MLG) TIRE DEFLATED. THIS DEFLATION CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT

TO YAW HARD TO THE LEFT. THE TAIL WHEEL HAD NOT YET CONTACTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO COUNTERACT THE LEFT YAW WITH RIGHT RUDDER INPUT, AND THE AIRCRAFT RAPIDLY VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE PILOT RELEASED THE RIGHT RUDDER INPUT, AND THE AIRCRAFT OSCILLATED BACK TO THE LEFT. THIS FINAL MOVEMENT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO PITCH FORWARD ONTO THE PROPELLER AND SPINNER. THE AIRAFT CAME TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY 29R.

UPON INSPECTION OF THE LEFT MLG TIRE, A SMALL CUT WAS DISCOVERED ON THE INBOARD TREAD, THAT PENETRATED THROUGH THE TREAD AND BELTS.

THE AIRCRAFT TIRES WERE PROPERLY INFLATED PRIOR TO THE FLIGHT, AND NO VISIBLE DAMAGE WAS NOTED BY THE PILOT DURING PREFLIGHT WALK AROUND. THE PILOT DID NOT REPORT ANY ISSUES REGARDING THE CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT ON GROUND DURING TAXI OR TAKE OFF.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
