## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER TAKEOFF, CLIMBING THRU 100 AGL THE ENGINE SPUTTERED, AT 258 AGL AND ABOUT 30 SECONDS FROM THE START OF THE ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH, THE STALL WARNING HORN SOUNDED. THE PILOT DECIDED TO LAND IN A FIELD. HE COULD NOT COME TO A STOP PRIOR TO DEPARTING THE FIELD CROSSSING OVER A TWO LANE ROAD AND COMING TO REST AFTER HITTING A GUIDE WIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA016](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA016), Oct 16, 2024: Piper PA-28-151 (N41370), Newnan, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadequate use of carburetor heat during the engine run-up, which resulted in a partial loss of power due to carburetor icing during takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
