## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/17/2024, THE PILOT FLEW HIS MO20P MOONEY AIRCRAFT, TO BOWMAN FIELD IN LOUISVILLE, KY, AFTER DEPARTING HIS HOME BASE OF CSG IN COLUMBUS, GA. UPON ARRIVAL INTO THE LOUISVILLE AREA, PIC WAS DIRECTED TO MAKE A STRAIGHT IN APPROACH TO RWY 33 AT LOU. DURING THE INVESTIGATION, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ ADVISED THAT HE WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE LOU AIRPORT AND WAS NOT AWARE THAT RWY 33 HAS A SIGNIFICANT UPSLOPE GRADE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE RUNWAY. PIC REALIZED THAT HE WAS A LITTLE HIGH ON THE APPROACH, SO HE USED A SLOWER THAN NORMAL APPROACH SPEED TO COMPENSATE. WHEN BEGAN HIS FLARE FOR LANDING, HE REALIZED THE RUNWAY HAD AN UPSLOPE HE REALIZED HE WAS TOO LOW AND SLOW TO RECOVER OR GO AROUND AND THE AIRPLANE STALLED AND HIT HARD CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR SYSTEM. THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO AIRPORT PROPERTY, BUT THE RUNWAY HAD TO BE CLOSED TEMPORARILY TO CLEAN UP SOME PARTS THAT CAME OFF THE AIRCRAFT. HE WAS ABLE TO TAXI THE AIRCRAFT OFF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
