## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ABOUT HALFWAY DOWN RUNWAY 16, THE AC BEGAN TO LIFT 3 TO 4 FEET IN THE AIR BUT WAS NOT CREATING ENOUGH LIFT AND CAME BACK TO THE GROUND. IN APPROXIMATELY 50 MORE FEET, THE AC BECAME AIRBORNE AGAIN, GAINING AN ALTITUDE OF AROUND 20 TO 30 FEET BEFORE HAVING AN EXTREME NOSE-UP ATTITUDE AND RETURNING TO THE GROUND, OFF THE RUNWAY ON THE LEFT LANDING GEAR. AT THIS POINT, THE LEFT WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE LEFT LANDING GEAR STRUT AND CONTINUED TO ROLL UNTIL IT CAME TO REST, HITTING A HANGAR TO THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AC SKIDDED ABOUT 60 FEET BACK ONTO THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA032](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA032), Oct 19, 2024: Ryan Navion A (N2341), Belleville, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain airplane control during the takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
