## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^DEPARTED PAO 10/22/2024.

UPON DEPARTURE, AIRCRAFT LOST RIGHT REAR MAIN LANDING GEAR. PILOT ELECTED TO LAND AT HWD DUE TO LONGER RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PERFORMED LOW APPROACH THEN LANDED RWY28L WITHOUT INCIDENT, AND WITH MINOR DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT.

INSPECTORS FOUND RIGHT REAR MAIN LANDING GEAR TO BE SEPARATED AT THE STRUT & TORQUE LINK. AFTER SEARCHES PERFORMED AT BOTH DEPARTURE AND ARRIVAL AIRFIELDS, TORQUE LINK BOLT AND ASSOCIATED HARDWARE WERE NOT RECOVERED. GEAR HAD SEPARATED AT THE STRUT. WHEEL/TIRE/INNER STRUT WERE RECOVERED FROM PAO. OUTER STRUT AND UPPER TORQUE LINK WERE STILL ATTACHED TO AIRCRAFT (NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE).

INSPECTOR EVALUATED MAINTENANCE LOGS AND DETERMINED AIRWORTHINESS REQUIREMENTS TO BE UP TO DATE.

THE CAUSE OF THE TORQUE LINK BOLT'S DEPARTURE FROM THE AIRCRAFT IS UNKNOWN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
