## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING APPROACH FOR LANDING, AIRCRAFT RIGHT WING IMPACTED BLAST AREA OF R/WAY ABOUT 85' FROM R/WAY THRESHOLD FOLLOWED BY HEAVY PROP STRIKES ON R/WAY. AIRCRAFT THEN TRAVELLED OVER 500' ON R/WAY, AND CAME TO A FULL STOP ON IT'S NOSE IN GRAVEL AREA OFF THE RIGHT SIDE OF R/WAY, WITH COLLAPSED NOSE LANDING GEAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA028](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA028), Oct 25, 2024: Dierenfield Devin RV-6A (N805RV), Lancaster, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain a stablized approach, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
