## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 10/26/2024 PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND PASSENGER LEFT MARATHON AIRPORT AT 10:56 AM RETURNING TO FORT MYERS (KFMY). PILOT PICKED UP CURRENT ATIS AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES OUT, INDICATING WINDS 04 @ '' DIRECTION, CURRENT ALTIMETER, SKY CONDITIONS , TEMP. AND LANDING AND DEPARTING RUNWAY 5.

AT 10 MILES OUT, PILOT RADIOED PAGE TOWER TELLING THEM HE WAS 10 MILES TO THE SW INBOUND FOR LANDING, WITH CURRENT ATIS. TOWER WAS VERY BUSY DUE TO ANOTHER ACCIDENT ON RUNWAY 5. TOWER THEN REDIRECTED PILOT TO USE RUNWAY 13 INSTEAD OF 5. PILOT NOTICED HIS GROUNDSPEED WAS FASTER THAN NORMAL ON SHORT-FINAL. AS SOON AS PILOT LANDED HE FELT A GUST OF WIND PUSH HIM OFF THE RUNWAY, CAUSING HIM TO HIT A RUNWAY/TAXI-WAY SIGN WITH THE LEFT MAIN GEAR AND WING. PILOT MANAGED TO GET AIRCRAF TO TAXIWAY TO BETWEEN RUNWAY 13 AND BRAVO TAXIWAY. PILOT COULD SEE FUEL LEAKING FROM AIRCRAFT AND BOTH PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.AIRPORT CREW TOWED THE PLANE TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ HANGAR.
