## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING INITIAL APPROACH PHASE OF FLIGHT, FLIGHT CREW SELECTED FLAP 2.

F/CTL FLAP LOCK ECAM WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RECEIVED BY

THE FLIGHT CREW. THE APPROACH WAS DISCONTINUED, ECAM

ACTIONS CARRIED OUT AND PAN PAN WAS DECLARED AS A

PRECAUTION.

FLIGHT RETURNED TO MSY AND CARRIED OUT ZERO FLAP LANDING ON RWY 11 WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMM AND FOUND A DAMAGED PROXIMITY SENSOR ON THE R/H INTERCONNECTION STRUT. THE R/H INTERCONNECTION STRUT WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH A SERVICEABLE COMPONENT. SUBSEQUENT SERVICEABILITY TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT WITH SATISFACTORY RESULT AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
